Multi-year partnership aims to strengthen and develop equestrian event
Maastricht, 7 May 2026 – Jumping Indoor Maastricht (JIM) and MECC Maastricht signed a multi-year partnership agreement yesterday for a period of three years. This partnership will enable both organisations to take an important step in the further development and international positioning of the event. This agreement explicitly goes beyond a traditional contract: JIM and MECC Maastricht are assuming joint responsibility to strengthen, renew and futureproof this leading indoor equestrian event.
With this partnership, MECC Maastricht highlights the importance of holding a high-quality, international equestrian event at its venue while also conveying its confidence in the (partly) new management of Jumping Indoor Maastricht. This joining of forces offers ample opportunities to further professionalise and expand the event’s content and organisation.
Growth ambitions and strengthening grassroots sport
Having experienced clear growth in recent years, Jumping Indoor Maastricht has an ambitious outlook for the future. One important development is the structural expansion of the programme to include an additional event day on Thursday. This will provide the grassroots sport a permanent and prominent place at the event.
Strengthening the grassroots sport to enable riders of different levels and ages to participate is a seamless fit for both parties’ shared vision: to create an accessible and inspiring event for a broad audience.
Public event for people of all ages
Jumping Indoor Maastricht has grown to become the quintessential annual equestrian event in the region and beyond. Held this year from Thursday 5 to Sunday 8 November, the event combines top-class sport with entertainment, offering a multifaceted programme for people of all ages. Visitors can expect high-level international show jumping, spectacular shows, artist performances, an extensive catering area and plenty of activities for families. By focusing on accessibility and affordability, the event remains attractive to a broad audience and offers an accessible way to experience the equestrian sport.
Strong foundation for the future
Rino Soeters, Chairman of the Board of Jumping Indoor Maastricht Foundation: ’Having MECC Maastricht’s signature on this agreement is a great source of pride for us. We are honoured and delighted that MECC will be partnering with JIM management. This partnership forms the foundation for a successful future where we will continue to build on the growth and quality of our event, together.’
Claudia Mynott, Operational Director of Jumping Indoor Maastricht: ‘For me, this is a fantastic way to kick things off. I feel incredibly supported by MECC Maastricht’s participation; it brings a wealth of knowledge and experience within reach. I’m very much looking forward to shaping this collaboration and building further on this together.’
This partnership confirms MECC Maastricht and Jumping Indoor Maastricht’s joint ambition: to develop a top international event in which sport, experience and grassroots sport come together, and one in which Maastricht explicitly positions itself as a major host city.
