The ASPIS Open Symposium 2026 takes place on 2–3 July 2026 at MECC Maastricht, The Netherlands, as a satellite event of the ESTIV 2026 Congress. The symposium brings together scientists, regulators, industry representatives, and policy stakeholders to explore advances in animal-free chemical safety assessment and the transition toward next-generation risk assessment (NGRA).

As the final edition of the ASPIS Open Symposium, the event highlights the key achievements of the ASPIS cluster project — ONTOX, PrecisionTox, and RISK-HUNT3R — and focuses on translating scientific innovation into regulatory practice.

The annual FEBS congress is one of the most visible activities of FEBS. As one of the largest bio-conferences in Europe, attracting up to 2000 participants, the congress provides a platform for international scientific exchange and showcases the latest developments in biochemistry, molecular biology, and related fields. The congress includes inspiring plenary lectures presented by leading scientists, a series of specialized symposia diving deep into various areas of bioscientific research, extensive poster presentations, as well as engaging workshops and other activities on related topics. It also serves as a celebration of achievements, with various FEBS medals and awards being presented. FEBS congresses are a collaboration between FEBS and one or more of its affiliated societies, relocating annually to a different venue within the FEBS area.

Optica ImageSense Congress 2026
The Optica ImageSense Congress brings together leading researchers, engineers and industry professionals in imaging and sensing technologies. The congress integrates multiple topical meetings, creating a multidisciplinary environment for collaboration and knowledge exchange.

The technical program features invited and contributed talks, panel discussions, poster sessions and postdeadline presentations. 3GPP RAN Working Groups Return to MECC Maastricht in August 2026

In August 2026, the global mobile communications community will once again gather at the MECC Maastricht in the Netherlands, where ETSI will host the 3GPP RAN Working Groups meetings. This marks the second time that the prestigious venue has welcomed the 3GPP community, reaffirming Maastricht’s position as an important hub for international telecommunications standardisation activities.

The 3GPP Radio Access Network (RAN) Working Groups play a central role in shaping the future of mobile communications. Engineers, researchers, operators, vendors, and industry experts from around the world will come together for intensive technical discussions focused on the evolution of next-generation wireless technologies. With 6G research and standardisation activities accelerating across the industry, the August 2026 meetings are expected to be particularly significant.

Hosted by ETSI, one of the founding organizational partners of 3GPP, the meetings will bring together hundreds of delegates for a full week of collaboration, negotiations, and technical contributions. Participants can expect long and demanding working days as they address the complex challenges involved in defining the foundations of future 6G systems, while continuing enhancements to 5G Advanced technologies.

This year’s congress focuses on the intersection of Human Factor and AI within intraoperative and intensive care settings. As we integrate more accurate and reliable monitoring techniques into our clinical practice, we must explore how artificial intelligence can enhance clinical safety and decision-making for cardiothoracic and vascular patients.

New in 2026
On September 22, before the start of the congress, a full day of simulation training will be held at the Sim Lab of the Maastricht Medical University. This program will offer you two scenario CRM sessions and two practical sessions where you can practice advanced bronchoscopy and ultrasound guided thoracic blocks. In addition, fellows and senior residents will have access to two additional sessions with scenario CRM scheduled on Wednesday 23 and Thursday 24 September
